The regional order of the Middle East in recent decades, especially after the end of the Cold War, has been shaped in a context of structural instability, geopolitical competition, and transregional interventions. The main question of the research is: What is the nature of the regional order of the Middle East in light of the recent rearrangement of power relations and geopolitical competition, and what impact has it had on regional stability or instability? Using the descriptive-explanatory method and the theory of regional balancing, it is clear that unlike some regions of the world that have strengthened cooperation-oriented institutions and relatively stable patterns of order, the Middle East is faced with weak regional institutions, unresolved fundamental conflicts, and fluid balances of power. In this regard, the process of normalizing relations between some Arab countries and Israel has been introduced as a move towards stability, but in reality, this process has led to greater instability. The research findings show that the new regional order in the Middle East is a fragile and non-institutional order based on temporary alliances and short-term calculations. This situation brings about simultaneous diplomatic convergence and security divergence, and its consequences include the intensification of geopolitical competition, the weakening of previous deterrent balances, and the increase in the role of indirect actions. Ultimately, the normalization of relations without creating a comprehensive and equitable framework has led to the normalization of instability in the regional order in the Middle East.
